About Me
I’m Lorna, the heart behind Tru Reiki here in Berkhamsted. My path to becoming a holistic practitioner has been shaped by life’s challenges, deep curiosity about human behaviour, and a calling to help others heal.
From a young age, I was fascinated by why we do what we do. Growing up in Ireland in the 80s, I was a very sensitive kid who often felt like I didn’t quite fit in. At the time, we didn’t talk about emotions or mental health, but I found ways to share — through counsellors, group sessions, and trusted mentors over the years.
Everything changed after I lost my father, my best friend and experienced my first heartbreak, all in the space of two years. Traditional counselling and talking therapy helped, but something still felt missing. When I had my first Reiki session, I experienced one hour of pure serenity, harmony, and peace — something I had never felt before. It gave me clarity, hope, and a profound reconnection to myself. I didn’t need to understand how it worked, I just knew it was transforming me — inside and out.
That experience led me to train in Reiki Level One, never intending to share it publicly (in Ireland at the time, I would have been considered a “witch,” so I kept in the spiritual closet). I used Reiki for myself, close friends, and family for years. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, my creative arts career came to a halt. I realised it was finally time to share Reiki with others. I began offering sessions at my local yoga studio — and it took off. The response showed me that there was a deep need for this work, especially for women navigating stress, loss, and transition.
My mission is simple: to help everyone find harmony, heal deeply, and feel empowered to live in alignment with who they truly are. I invite you to start your journey today.
